A Liquorland in Whangārei was ram-raided in the early hours of Saturday morning, police said.

About 1.15am, police responded to a burglary in Tikipunga, where a car had been used to get into the Wanaka Rd store.

Staff member Rhys Morrison said the damage wasn’t too severe, but the roller door will need to be replaced.

One till was taken, and some other supplies.

“Police attended and conducted area searches but at this time no offenders have not been located,” police said.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Morrison said his manager arrived early to clean up before staff arrived to start business as usual on Saturday.

Liquorland has been approached for comment.
