Two men have been arrested in a homicide investigation into the death of Teina Pickering in Ruakākā.

The 24-year-old’s body was found on a street in the Northland settlement on 12 October.

Police said a 29-year-old man was arrested yesterday and appeared in the Whangārei District Court on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear on 17 October.

Another man, aged 28, was arrested this morning and charged with weapons and firearms-related offences.

He is due to appear in the Whangārei court tomorrow.

Detective Inspector Al Symond said they were not seeking anyone else at this time, but further charges were likely.
