One person has been critically injured and a road is closed after a crash involving two vehicles in the Far North.
Police have advised road blocks are in place following the serious crash in Kaingaroa.
The crash was reported to police around 12.30pm.
“Initial indications suggest critical injuries,” a police spokesperson said.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to expect lengthy delays.”
The serious crash unit had been notified.
Kaingaroa lies on State Highway 10 north-east of Awanui and Kaitaia.
