A person has been left seriously injured after a car was driven into them during a fight in Whangārei.
Northland police say they were called shortly before 11am yesterday to reports of a group of 10 males fighting and smashing vehicles in Walton Street.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Cooper said another person was moderately injured after being assaulted.
He said a handful of people, including a youth, were arrested and charged with a range of offences, including possession of an offensive weapon and wounding with intent.
Enquiries are continuing and there may be additional arrests or charges as information comes available.
Police are appealing for any cellphone or CCTV footage of the fight.
