Man found in critical condition after shouts heard on street

A man has been left in critical condition after a serious assault in Warkworth, police say, and they want anyone with information about what happened to come forward.

Waitematā Police said an incident was reported about 11.30pm last night.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Falls Road and Hudson Road after witnesses said there had been shouting between a man and a group of people in vehicles.

Soon afterward the man was found seriously injured on the side of the road and taken to hospital.

He was in a critical but stable condition today.

Police want to hear from anyone with information about what happened or who might have seen dangerous driving in or near Falls and Hudson Roads late last night.
