Emergency services are responding to a serious crash involving a truck and a car in Northland on Friday.

The crash on State Highway 1 near Brynderwyn happened about 3am this morning.

The road is under stop-go management with motorists warned to expect delays.

Police said emergency services are expected to be there for some time.
