Tikipunga homicide: Police want to speak to person seen riding bike


Police are renewing appeals for an ongoing homicide investigation into a fatal house fire in Tikipunga in late April. Today, new CCTV images are being released of a person Police would like to speak with as part of the investigation.

CCTV images of a person police want to speak with in relation to a homicide investigation have been released.

Police are continuing the investigation into a fatal house fire in Tikipunga in late April where Hoani Reuben, also known as John, was killed.

The fire took place on Thomas Street just after 3am on 29 April.

The CCTV images show a person riding a bike at the time of the fire.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Clayton said police believe they could help with the investigation.

“Mr Reuben’s death was a tragedy, and we are treating it as a homicide,” Clayton said.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who might know who owns the bicycle.”
