Police have confirmed one person has died following a crash in Mangōnui on Sunday night.

Just after 10pm, emergency services were alerted that a vehicle had crashed into a ditch on State Highway 10, just south of Mangōnui in Northland.

The person died at the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit attended and an investigation has begun.

Police said their thoughts were with the person’s whānau and friends and they were providing support.
