Far North police have arrested a person after a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Kaitaia last Friday night.

A 55-year-old woman is due to appear in the Kaitaia District Court tomorrow, charged with failing to report an accident causing death.

Police say the investigation into the crash is continuing.

They want anyone who was in the area between 11.30pm and midnight, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the crash, to get in touch.
