One person has been injured in a single vehicle car crash in Kaipara, around 7.30am on Sunday.

State Highway 1 is closed near Brynderwyn while emergency services respond to a crash.

Google Maps showed congestion through Brynderwyn at 10am.

Diversions were in place, and police advised drivers to expect delays.
