One person died in a serious crash in Northland on Sunday afternoon.

The two-vehicle crash on State Highway 10, near Cottle Hill Drive in Kerikeri, was reported about 12.15pm.

Emergency services were at the scene, and diversions were in place on Wiroa Road and Te Ahu Ahu road. The road has now reopened.

The crash was being investigated, police said.
