A person has been critically injured in a serious crash in Northland this afternoon.

The single vehicle crash on Mangakahia Road in Tītoki was reported to police at about 12.20pm.

A section of Mangakahia Road is closed due to the crash.

Police said diversions were in place and motorists were advised to expect delays while the scene was cleared.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
