A person has been killed in a workplace incident on the road by Abbey Caves in Northland’s Whangārei.

The incident on Abbey Caves Rd was reported to police shortly before 1pm on Monday.

A police spokesperson confirmed WorkSafe and the Serious Crash Unit had been advised of the death.

The death would be referred to the Coroner, the spokesperson said.
