The heartbroken family of a man found dead on a Northland highway suggest he was the victim of a hit-and-run.
Damon Clark died in an incident on State Highway 1 on Brynderwyn Hill, south of Waipu, on Friday night.
Police have been calling for witnesses since Saturday morning, when they were alerted that a man’s body had been found on a section of the highway between Waipu Gorge Rd and SH12.
Indications showed he was likely struck by a vehicle, police said in a statement.
