Person trapped, critically hurt after quad bike crash in Far North

A person is trapped and critically injured after a quad bike incident in the Far North.

Police said emergency services were responding after the bike rolled near Whangaroa Harbour.

The incident occurred in a remote area with no road access at Oteko Point.

The spokesman said the Northland Rescue Helicopter had arrived at nearby Matangirau while rescue services work out how to reach the injured person.

A boat is also being prepared in case it is needed.
