Elderly man missing in Northland after not returning from swim

A water and shoreline search is under way for an elderly man who went missing in Northland’s Onerahi.

In a statement, police said the 83-year-old has not been seen since Saturday.

Police said he typically went for a daily swim in the Whangārei Harbour and wears a wet suit and pink swim cap.

Police, Coastguard and Surf Life Saving New Zealand are now out looking for him.
