Jos Divis, the photographer who saved a town


Whanganui Regional Museum is screening ‘Jos.The Forgotten Photographer Who Saved a Town’, a short documentary highlighting the extraordinary life and work of Joseph Divis, a pioneering photographer, gold miner, and world traveller. This accompanies ‘Cast in Light: Life in a Mining Town’, an exhibition showcasing Divis’ photography from 1931 to 1935. The screening is on Saturday 5 October 4pm – admission by koha. The movie was in theatres earlier this year, and can viewed online through two streaming services: Arovision and SkyGO.
